Frequently Asked Questions.

What services do you offer?
We offer two main services:
Full production - you provide the vehicle or subject and we cover every aspect off the production - from pre production, logistics and concepts to the shooting, editing and colour grading.
A part of your production. We can offer our expertise and operation of our camera cars for any rolling road requirement - be that of a vehicle, cyclist, athlete. You name it, if it requires stable, precise moving footage, we can provide that. At the end of the shooting day, we provide all the raw footage for you to take away.
How can I book a session with you?
Simply get in touch via email or our contact form. Let us know any information you have for your automotive videography project and we will do the rest.
What types of vehicles do you work with?
All vehicles deserve to be showcased in the best way possible and here at Octane by LIAV, we’re not biased towards any brand, horsepower or shape. If it moves, we will shoot it!
Do you provide international services?
We have built our bespoke camera car rig from the ground up to be able to be transferred from any vehicle quickly and efficiently with no damage impacted to the vehicle it is on. The entire kit packs down in to various protective cases and can be easily transported - even on a plane. We are available to shoot worldwide.
Do you offer any additional media services?
Our crew is exceptionally capable and have 13 + years of experience. We offer videography, camera car videography, photography and aerial videography
What equipment do you use for filming?
We use state of the art 8k and 4k UHD cinema cameras with a full package of lenses ranging from 16 - 200mm in focal length. Lenses are like paintbrushes and are instrumental in setting the right look and feel to a piece, so we have ultra modern cine lenses, vintage rehoused lenses from the 70’s and 80’s as well as weather sealed industry leading optics.

Will shooting always require a camera car?
Not all production require rolling road footage. Typically it is a great idea to show the car in motion as that is it’s entire reason for existing - however some productions are not always to focus on the car on or off the road. Sometimes a campaign is being produced to show the interior highlights, practicality, explainer videos or simply in a dealership to advertise a special offer or plate change. In those scenarios, we have everything you would require for ‘on the ground’ shooting.
Who can I expect on the shooting days?
On your production days you will be joined by:
Director - by the time it comes to the production days, you will have had multiple pre production meetings with our Director to ensure everyone knows exactly the aim of each day shooting.
1st AD/Focus Puller - Assisting the director with set ups, logistics and equipment to make sure everything is ran as smoothly as possible at all times
Operator - Their main role is to control the moving head on board the camera car. Enabling us to shoot all the footage we require from the safety of the cabin and via multiple operator screens.
Driver/Safety Officer - The driver is pivotal during pre shooting and during. Making sure all equipment is tested, checked and tested again for safety as well as communicating with the camera team and vehicle talent while moving.
